Keaton Beach 7/7

Post by leonreno »

Started fishing around 7:30-8:30 and it was a nice breezy day, help make it not so hot. Saw thunderstorms to the north near St. Marks/Ecofina. We fished a lot of different areas from near Keaton to north of Spring Warrior. No spot was a good spot but we mananged to pick up 8 keeper trout and three black sea bass. They ranged from 15-5” to 20.5”. We stayed on the water u til about 8:00 so we fished hard for those fish. Best depth for us was 4-6 feet and we ised Popping corks witn gulp. White gulps seem to be the best. I believe deeper may produce some fish also but it was tough bumping jigs on the bottom with the fast drift and floating grass.

On another note, i noticed we saw no seagulls or pelicans. None. Either out on the water or around the canal. Any reason for this?
