If You want to avoid Atlanta you can get off 75 at Forsyth, go to Madison, Athens, Commerce and on to Blairsville. Factor in Atlanta traffic and it would be an easier and more scenic drive.

You can also get off 75/16 at Macon, go to Gray, Eatonton and on to Madison. No way I would get any closer to metro Atlanta than I had to.

Yep, take 1-75 to Macon, get on 129 to Eatonton, then 441 to Athens. If you are going to Blairsville you probably want to get back on 129 in Athens. That road turns in 19 taking you straight to Blairsville.

I go that way once or twice a month for work. Although, if you time it right and avoid rush hour, going through Atlanta will be considerably quicker if you are heading to Blairsville. Can be a gamble, but usually I check out the traffic app on my phone when I get to Macon and decide which way to go.

You have to be one lucky person to make it through Atlanta, Marietta and up to 575 to Blue Ridge, if you go that way, to get clear sailing. I had to go to Atlanta today, Sat, and you would of though it was Friday afternoon.
