2004 Yamaha Trim Tilt Motor

Post by redcodefsu »

I have a Yamaha 2004 90 hp 2 Stroke 90TLRC and the trim-tilt motor died. Everything I could find online leads me to model number 6H1-43880-02-00. I removed the motor today and found out that 6H1-43880-02-00 isn't the right model number. Any ideas what model number I need to get?

I also have a freshly painted 6H1-43880-02-00 if anyone is interested.

From a quick parts lookup it appears that the part number you are looking for is 6H1-43840-12-00

It looks like 6H1-43840-12-00 is the assembly. I'm looking for the trim/tilt motor.

Oops, I misread your post. It looks like the listed assembly is a superseded part, which probably means the current parts do not fit the original assembly.
Are you dealing with a bolt hole pattern problem or shaft length or something else?

The width of the new motor is smaller than the one I'm replacing. The bolt hole pattern is fine, it just isn't wide enough to cover the area.

I talked to a cousin in Miami that's going to send me a used one. The pictures look the same as the one I'm replacing.
