big sheepshead and a flounder

Post by geofish »

Had to work for 'em today. Don't know how the other dozen boats parked on the same spot on Rotary reef did, but we only caught a few. Water was very clear, and these two were caught on my ultralight rod with 6 lb test. Other lines were getting very few bites. Also drifting seemed better than staying on anchor lock.
Hope others post a few reports.

Nice, but a dozen boats?

Wow.

Live bait or cut?

Nice catch. Those will eat well.

Live shrimp on a jighead for the sheepshead. Believe it or not I was trying to find some baitfish & caught the flounder on a crappie jig with a little white grub.
Both on 6 lb test ultralight rod.
Go figure.
