St. Marks 8-14-19

Post by 4reels »

It’s August, so I didn’t have high expectations. Mostly wanted to get out early, watch the sunrise, and drain the stress tanks. Saw a ton of mullet along the grass lines West of the lighthouse. No redfish wanted to participate. Had a few ladyfish play with my topwater. Caught a Jack and more ladyfish along the Goose Creek channel towards the West. Ended with a decent flounder in the river on the way back.

Slick calm & HOT !!

Jeff and I were able to hit the water yesterday as well, but weren't able to get out until last evening. It was a little windier than expected but we made the most of it. Right off the bat, Jeff hooked up with a stud red, but we were having fun with snapchat and talkin some smack to our buddies that it spit the hook. That didn't stop him tho, as he made up for later with a STUD TROUT!! Bait of choice last night for Jeff was the Z-Man jerk shad and diesel minnow, while I caught most of mine on the trout Skitterwalk. Here are some photos...

I didn't get a photo with my red (caught 2 last night) but here is my CCA entry

Jeff also caught a nice triple tail.

Nice reports, guys. Thanks.

Did Jeff get a weight on that sow before the release? How long was she? Congrats, that was a lifetime catch!

Good reports. Nice trout. Beautiful sunrise, but we chased cobia instead of staying inshore

Was hoping that trout would make it into a report, it was making its way around through individual texts, biggest one I've seen. Well done gentleman!
