There sure is a lot of support for these missing boaters! Broadcastify.com top feed is Jacksonville Beach Marine with over 2,100 listeners at one point today. I hope they make it home soon

Prayers lifted. The searchers keep finding debris, but as one who has done a search before, there is always a LOT of debris out there.
Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

The world needs a win. I've been following this from the beginning and to be honest I will be genuinely upset if they aren't found.

We're all brothers at sea.

Everyone with a boat should read the beginning and the end of this long heart-wrenching thread.

https://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-fo ... l-145.html

And then go out and immediately purchase the items for your ditch bag including an EPIRB and/or a PLB to attach to your life jacket.

I already have a SPOT locator in my bag but I'm going to buy a PLB and attach it to my butt.

Either one of those items might have saved those guys lives.

A few things I have learned this week in no particular order.

1). Own an Epirb, a PLB, or Both. I now own both.

2). Make sure your VHF is transmitting correctly. Just because you can hear chatter doesn’t mean anyone can hear you.

3). Write your name or your boat name on everything loose in the boat. Life jackets, cooler, bags, cushions.....If you throw stuff overboard, they can follow your breadcrumbs.

4). Tell someone your float plan or file it online. Don’t change plans without notifying someone.

5). Keep your life jackets and ditch bag easily accessible, especially if bad weather is close.

Anything is still possible. Hoping they did at least #5 and they are floating out there somewhere with plenty of bottled water waiting to be picked up.

I've been wadefishing/kayaking Apalachee Bay tidal creeks for 20+ years. My dad recently gifted me a small skiff that I can take a few miles out. Before my first launch, I will do this...

BUY AN EPIRB!!!

I got an arc pls a few years ago. I’m going to get an epirb and satellite weather radar. You can’t spend to much on safety gear. Especially when a plb or epirb costs less than an offshore boat fuel fill up.

I just ordered this. https://www.acrartex.com/survival-products/resqlink

I plan to attach it to my auto-inflate life jacket that I already wear all the time. It was $299.

IF you see the picture on the The Hull Truth of the Firemans truck and empty boat trailer still in the parking lot, covered in flowers, with his little girl standing there. If you can see that pic and not feel something.......well you are a hard SOB.
