Dog Island ,40’

Post by Greenbone »

We couldn’t get any hits trolling so we finished the day deep dropping. Seas weren’t too bad, 2-3’ ,water temp 60 degrees. The reds were massive overshot, huge red snapper out of season, and all the gags an inch too short.
Still better than a day of work.

Thanks for the report.

FYI, those overslot reds and snapper will do better upon release if they are held and supported in their natural horizontal position. Vertical posing compacts internal organs and can cause damage.

Dave , you are right. Horizontal is best way to handle these trophies . We did completely revive all before safely releasing for another day.
