Tachometer question

Post by Dockwilson »

My tach needle moves to 2000 when I turn on ignition, engine not even running. Any idea what the problem is?
Advice, please.

Water in your key switch can cause this, does your boat stay outside or have you recently washed it. moister inside the switch can cause it to have a low voltage short
