The alternatives are nice, but make no mistake, Seadek is the highest quality. There is a difference. It may not be worth the jump on price, but it is better.
I did the eva foam on my big boat and make no mistake it will not turn out like laser cut seadek when you're cutting DIY. As far as the material goes it's VERY similar.

I'd say for $100 in material you could cover the area of $1500 of seadek installed and for older used boats I don't think there's a question.
