Any luck with scallops in St. Joe Bay?

Post by pcbayou »

St. Joe Bay is a little out of range for the Bend, I know. But I'm curious whether anyone has found more than a handful of scallops there in the season's opening days. My better half and I have gone twice already and have worn ourselves out. Without too much embarrassing detail, let's just say single digits are involved. We are shallow waders but might try the boat if anyone has found them deeper.

Small patches of dense scallops. The vast majority of boats are finding very few/none. My boat found 3 scallops Saturday. Redfish are rampant….
In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. And we will understand only what we are taught.

Thanks, Showboat. It sounds like it’s just a down year. That’s good to hear about the redfish, though. Maybe I’ll go back with a Skitterwalk or Mirrodine.
