Lanark Village 12/21/02

Went out of Fina station, Lanark Sat. about 10:00 at the lowest tide I've ever seen there. Equinox, full moon, hard blowing north winds for two previous days must have all combined to push the water way out. Got to end of channel & couldn't get out; came back to station & waited til 11:00 and tried again. Got out this time, but barely. Almost slick water offshore. Ran to Yamaha Reef. Released 4 red snapper and several shorts. Caught one 26" gag and was broken off by a monster. Came back to spot at 40' and caught 3 keeper gags to 26" and released a dozen shorts. Fishing partner lost a big one he couldn't turn. Did not troll, bottom fished w/ cigar minnows, squid and cut ly. Absolutely gorgeous day on the water. Had a free line out w/ cigar minnow, but no action on it. Is anyone still catching kings?
