A unique website dedicated to fishing information from Florida's Northern Big Bend. This includes the area from the Econfina River west to the Apalachicola River
My wife almost crapped a cow when she saw the thirty three dollar price tag on the jug of grubs.
I will tell you this many days you can catch as many on non-gulp baits but the statistic on won Redfish tourney's is very high for the Gulps.
I used to only buy Shrimp or use Pinfish or cut bait with people that don't fish on the boat. I now use Gulps with novices or pros.
I know that we should never use a jig and cork either but I do that too. I am not a purist on any level, I go to catch fish.
I like to use that which I can succeed with, I catch more on artificials than I have on naturals more on Gulps than non scent impregnated baits.
In fact when I heard the Catch 2000 in Pinfish came out I bought and used them with gusto, spinner baits check, Spoons other than Johnson dito.
You could make an argument for no power pole, depth finder, GPS, or trolling motor all must go anything created in the last four decades that will help.
Compass and Cut Mullet or Pin fish or live Shrimp, stout cane pole, and thirty pound test only, you know lets do it old school.
Yesterday it was taboo today it is normal what the heck will they be doing tomorrow?

Gulps are perfect for this time of year. They are most effective when fished SLOW in cold water. They are unnecessary and a waste of money as the water warms up and the bait stealers become active. It's all a matter of fishing to the conditions. The important thing to remember here is that there are no baits or lures superior to others except in terms of performance. Let's all be respectful of each other .
