Off to Arkansas

Post by bman »

Driving out tomorrow to spend the first three days of Duck Season in Arkansas :-D :-D

Going here: Buckshot Duck Lodge

Every time I look at that photo I start shaking- hope it lives up to the hype.
Dad is going with me- this will be the first big trip he and I have taken in over 10 years.
I keep dreaming of hammering a big ole green head or pintail.

I'll report when I get back!

"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".

Hope you have a good one. I opted out of Arkansas due to the lack of water, but now I'm hearing that they are getting rain and they have some birds. Oh well, I'll find a few local.

MudDucker-
I hear we may have more birds here than there have been in years.
Get out there and scout and get a few!

Went to Stuttgart two years ago. A private lodge owned by Monsanto. Those folks know how to put on a duck shoot. They also know how to set a table.
Duck stew the first night. Breakfast at 3:30 am. After the shoot. Breakfast again at 10:30 am. Lunch at 12:30 pm. Steaks off the grill at 6:30 pm. Open bar with top shelf serve yourself 24/7.
Guns, shells and guides to every blind. More green heads than you can count coming in from every direction.
Sit on the porch in the evening and watch 10's of thousands of geese fly by so low you could feel the breeze from their wings.
Go get 'em BMan.
