Turkey Guide

Post by BlindHog »

I always get the urge to turkey hunt this time of yr, but dont have a place other than WMAs.

Anybody know a good guide within 2-3 hrs of Tally? Dont want the gourmet meals at a plantation, etc. -- just the hunt.

I have no advice for a guide, but there are plenty of birds on area WMA's. Keep scouting and you'll find them.

I have seen birds in 2 particular WMAs but according to stories I have heard, I might not survive the effort if I bothered to try there.

Also forgot to say I know nothing about how to find 'em other than what I see on TV. Also no calling experience. Guess I could wander Tate's Hell with an owl call, but seems a shot in dark. Was thinking I could learn somethign from a guide.

Give Doc King a call,he and his brother are two of the best but I don't know if they are still guiding for turkeys or not. (850) 926-7206

Blindhog,
Come on down to the banquet on March 6th. We will be auctioning many different hunts. These are all on great places around Tallahassee area. Plus you might meet someone that would be more than happy to take you along.
