repairing a clear sink tip line

I was over in Jax this past weekend and got in a little surf fly fishing. Between the wind and waves, my line got twisted up something terrible and the leader wrapped around the clear sink tip line in some kind of fantastic constrictor knot, cutting into the sink tip a little. I tested the cut part (more like a nick) and couldn't break it but is there any way to repair this line?
I was thinking about using a little Zap-a-Gap on the cut followed by some Loon Hard Head. It's a Rio Quickshooter, so I would hate to have to junk it.

I did end up with a nice chunky bluefish on a chartreuse and white clouser.

I've done the Zap-a-Gap thing before and it held up well. I'm assuming the nick is in the middle of head?

Yes - its roughly in the middle of the 12' clear sink tip

The best way to repair a sink tip line if it breaks is to match monofilament (same diameter, however much you need to replace) to the remaining sink tip portion. Wip a nail knot and glue with zap a gap for a smooth transition. It won't sink as fast as your old sink tip portion b/c those are weighted but it will get you by.
