Saint Marks sight fishing?

Post by TheRodFather »

Hey I am a stundent at FSU and have been fishing the Saint Marks area lately. We've done well bling casting against the oyster bars down river and in the deep holes by the powerplant. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on sightfishing the area. Ive polled around in a couple of the creeks and they looked like they should hold fish but didn't manage to find any . I would appreciate it if anyone had any advice as to where to start or what part of the tide is best. I realize that many of the fish are up river at the moment anyway but im sure they'll head south as the weather warms...
Any info on Panacea would great as well.

Sight fishing is good in the winter, but in the summer the mullet and the critters get the water stirred up and you gotta go east and west of St Marks to see in the water pretty good.

Welcome Clay! Do you happen to fish with David A?
