I propose a test of Stockwell and Chalks hypothesis.

Stockwell puth you cinderblock in a mesh bag, Chalk bring a 4' piece of rebar and your tampoons.

We will put them at the base of the ramp at Newport for the BB Social and observe the results. Can't be any worse than possible imbibing. It will give the man something to talk about.

Listen ya'll got a great idea there. There have been a number of Stripers over 30lbs caught at the boat ramp in Newport. There have been three over 30lbs caught off the docks across the river from the ramp at my aunt's fish camp. She has the pictures of those three.
So boys bring your chum, and put your chumming ability where your mouth is. :o

Where is this dock that you speak of? I'd love nothing more than to tame some Stripers.....I normally only get to do that up north in late Spring.

Joe it's in Newport. At the base of the hwy 98 bridge going over the St. Marks River. One side is a public boat ramp and small launching dock. The other side of the river is the dock at "lighthouse Central" It's a bait and tackle/boat rental store. The folks in the bait and tackle store will be glad to show you pictures of recent striper catches. Huge fish, caught on mullet.

Lighthouse Central Bait. 850-925-9904. Open 7 days a week. Owner- Cathy Finch.

Ok, I got the directions from Mapquest. Now, my next question. I see its nowhere close to the gulf, so do I need a freshwater license to fish?

Next question, just to make sure, I'm assuming we're talking chunked mullet, correct?
