CT Tip

Post by Littoral »

I heard this on the Sun AM fishing show 620 WDEA.
I'm certain some of you already know this tip but...
The line connecting to the CT gets tangled occaisionally. It seems to happen a lot more when the CT is worked hard or it's windy. Put a short flouro leader above the CT.
Oh. :hammer:
Why I had not thought of that myself, I don't know.

Now this would seem a little strange to put a leader above the CT and tie to main line, especially flouro.. :-? Now I use flouro from CT to jig head, but sure do not plan on adding a leader the other way. :hammer:

Adding another knot is a problem that crossed my mind. I'm a lot more confident about knots these days. That wasn't always the case.
I do get tired of fixing a tangle aroung the top of the CT. It makes sense that a stiffer leader, mono, flouro, braided, whatever, would not tangle as easy. I'll try it & see.
