Trigger failure/free firing?

I have a 17 year old JBL which I love bit started having trigger issues recently . I replaced a band last fall with the only one I could find which was noticeably bigger that the small diameter bands that came with it and that I normally use. It worked fine for awhile, but now the gun will freefire when I load the big band....pretty scary. Its still ok with the two small bands which is what I used we'd. They are fine for hogs, but not upcoming gags.

Did I reach the threshold for that particular trigger or is it a failure?

I'm guessing every trigger mechanism has a limit?

Yup everything has a limit and believe you have tested it. You might want to take it apart and see if anything has bent or broken. The mechanism might be able to be beefed up to accommodate the stronger bands. Good luck and be sure to stay behind it when loaded.
