Shot Size For Wood Ducks

Post by Ron Wilson »

Getting geared up for upcoming duck season in Ga. Wondering what preference is for shot size for wood ducks - #4 or #6?

Steel #4 are the way to go...
Unless you go with some of the fancy stuff- HeviSHot, Bismuth, etc... then you can go to #6

7 1/2 lead. Very deadly! Not so much legal, but then I shot #4 Kent Faststeel. BTW, I think steel shot requirements suck and I don't agree with the bogus science used to say it was necessary in the south.
Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

#4 steel does the job for me. Where I've hunted woodies an improved cyclinder worked well as the shooting was quick and close.
Not much time to snap off a shot!
