Carrabelle Wed

Did not check the weather this morning, as I was supposed to get up at 6 and leave at 6:30. Alarm did not go off and I woke at 6:30! Headed out in a rush. Got to Tates Hell and the bottom fell out-raining cats and dogs. Checked the weather on the iPhone and it looked like a wasted trip. So we went and go a great breakfast and had some coffee. Visited a couple of Carrabelle marinas and got some parts we needed. By then, it looked nice, so we headed out. Spot 1-several shorts specks. Spot 2-more short specks. Spot 3-short specks and lots of silver trout. Spot 4-3 keeper reds. Spot 5-26.5" keeper red in real shallow water. along with a couple more rats and a few just keeper specks. Saw several more tailing, but they would not eat. One more flounder went in the box. Got checked on shore by a very friendly, professional FWC officer. I was chatting away with him for a good 5 minutes before I noticed the badge hanging on his chest (duh). He looked in the box and made us measure the red (it looked long to all of us too when we pulled it in, but we measured it well). Had a nice mess of fish and we were glad we stuck it out, we almost left when we saw the radar in the morning.
