I'm posting for a friend who killed this in his back yard. He thought it was a copperhead, but not sure. It is a bad pic, but maybe good enough to get an id. Thanks

Yep. That is a copperhead.

Just stay away from the head. Even when the snake is dead they can still hurt you.

That is, indeed, a copperhead. Where was it killed? City, State? I only ask because I've never seen one around here, but I used to see them from time-to-time when I was up in NC.
