We got to the ramp at 1pm and put in to hot weather and threatening skies about an hour away. Surface temps were in the low 90s and the wind was out of he north initially. The thermocline was about 2ft from the surface and almost everything with fins was suspended just below it while the sun was out. We initally fished 5ft of water on the shore and caught a few decent but small BG and a keeper shell cracker. At 3 we moved under the cypress trees to wait out the rain. We found no fish under the cypress, and after the rain ended 40 minutes later we headed to the north east shore to fish the 5-6ft of water. We caught some very nice shell crackers jigging a live worm on the bottom, and a few nice BG before we began our honey hole tour at 6. Our first couple of offshore spots on the east side were inundated with water and consequently had fewer and slightly smaller BG than what we would like. We made a bee line to our better offshore honey holes and pulled about 15-20 handsize BG, a 5lb LMB, and a 3lb spotted gar. We headed in at 8:45 just after the sun went down. On the day we boated a little over 100 BG/shell crackers, 2 LMB and a spotted gar and we kept 32 nice BG. Another great day at the Z.

If you and skittywalker ever teamed up, you would catch'em all!

Good job and thanks for sharing your story.

Lol, were not trying to catch em all. We definitely dont mind limiting out though. I wonder if skittywalker knows how to catch these surface suspended fish.
