We fished all day in search of big bream and the huge channel cats that are supposed to roam this pond. We used live 5" BG for bait and pitched to the bottom while we bream fished. We did get some hits, but nothing scooped the little guy up and ran the entire day. It was a slow day, the heavy rains had made the normally clear waters a little turbid. We tore the bream up fishing 12-14ft deep until around noon when the bite ceased suddenly just before a short rain. We came back in to eat lunch and relax and we went back out at 2 and the big BG still wouldnt bite. On the day we caught 3 LMB, 60 BG, 2 shell crackers, and 100+ channel cats. The surface temps were in the high 70s over the deep water, and 80% of the fish were suspended just below the thermocline about 5ft below the surface. Hybrid bass were in the shallows throughout the day schooling with similiar sized LMB. We kept 12 channel cats, and 22 big BG 7-10.5". Another good day at Joe Budd.

Love your reports. If you don't mind me asking what baits you using?

Worms generally. Split pinks, or whole reds from local bait stores if we can help it. Walmart worms are up to 2 months old, and die and turn to dirt quickly. JBP is unique in that we were mainly dealing with Bull and coppernose BG, theyre old, and smart. We had to rotate between baits and presentations to keep them biting so we added crickets to the mix, and bits of chicken liver.
