St Marks East Flats Weeds

Post by tgill3764 »

Is everyone else struggling with all the floating weeds in the water as much as I am? For the past two months, every time I try to fish the east flats, black rock, etc. I struggle like hell to keep my popping corks/gulp shrimps free from the weeds. We went out this morning and moved after fishing the flats for not even 30 minutes. Went to the west flats and saw much less weeds but no luck.

Is it just me? How does everyone else deal with this problem?

Take the cork off and jig off the bottom is what I do.

Also works with a weighted hook.

I was just out there today with similar weed problems. I was fishing bottom, so they were not that big a deal.
