Lower Lake Lafayette?

Anyone here fish Lower Lake Lafayette? Can you tell me if there are any fish worth catching in there, and what kind?
I took my canoe all the way across it yesterday, from the launch at Chaires to the berm separating it from Piney-Z. It sure looks fishy, but I didn't have any rods with me. And I know that the water level gets extremely low in there at times, so I didn't know if there was a decent fish population.
Figured I'd ask to see if anyone else here had fished it before I tried it myself.
