Launched out of Shell Island at 0600 and headed east. It started out pretty rough with over 10mph wind from the south. We fished in 4-5 ft of water and caught a nice limit of trout by 1200 with a 22 and 21 inch trout and a bonus flounder. We couldn't find a redfish but did find 1 knucklehead that decided to jump in the spot I was drifting as I was coming around for a second drift. The Water temp was 80 degrees and visibility was like coffee with cream and maybe a spoonful of sugar (about 2 feet of visibility). Over half of our fish were caught on topwater, which made for some extra excitement. It was a great day out with a good friend visiting from Tennessee. This time next week I will be fishing the back country in the everglades with the pops and I am excited!

I fished 3'-5' East of the Lighthouse today. Caught 20+ Trout with only about 5 shorts. I rat red and two that came unbuttoned from the creeks. Same water and wind conditions. Temp was between 79°and 81°
It was nice to have a fishing day away from the holiday chaos.
