Barry or anyone else have the latest update on the "new" ramp/parking lot at Shell Point? Have been meaning to drive by to check out the progress but haven't yet. Last post on previous thread said the contractor was working on the ramp and then Wakulla Count Public Works was going to grade/pave the parking lot?

There are no public launches at Shell Point at this time. The new county ramp will not be ready for a while. However you did say a small boat, there is a public beach that yakers and hobie sail boats launch at in the sand. Depending on the tide and size of your small boat would be the issue. I have a small 17 foot bay boat and would not even think of launching on the beach.

Thanks Klong. Any ETA on the completion date of the county ramp?

The Spring creek ramp is just past the spring creek restaurant in the campground. It is a pay ramp. It is also very shallow. I have a 21 foot bay boat that I would not attempt to launch unless the tide was in.

Not ready yet, Price3275.
To fish, or not to fish, . . . those are the answers.

No, it's not done yet. I drove by there the other day to check it out and they are still working on the pilings and ramp. After that they'll have to finish the parking area. If it's supposed to be done by late spring, they better get moving. Sure all this rain has hampered construction, but it will be a nice facility when it is completed.

I appreciate the replies, I'm in Chattanooga, TN and normally have to use the Spring Creek ramp. (I spent about every summer in Shell Point as a kid and I've started bringing the family back for a week or two for the past few years.)
