My opening two days of duck season were great. Hunted with friends and bagged some birds.
The rest of hunting season has been a little different ;-)

Marion, age 5 and 1/2, went dove hunting with me last year.
Charlotte, age 4, has been jealous and has been begging to go.

First outing was an afternoon hunt... and they were excited.

Last year Marion got her own Pink Daisy BB gun

She is getting good with it!!

Of course the only group of birds that came by were spooked by the girls looking for them but that didn't matter!
I shot two coots and they were not gun shy or afraid to pick them up.

If I was training a puppy it would have been a sucess ;-)

A few days later they joined me on a quail hunt before the Noles took care of the Gators!

It was another sucess.

Charlotte is getting her custom purple pink Daisy on Christmas day.

Those are the best kind of trips, and certainly one that they will remember forever.

I took my little girl some when she was close to that age and then she lost interest. Now she is 22, has boyfriend who hunts and every time she comes home from college, she wants to know if I am going to take them hunting. It's great to see you raising some GRITS, Girls Raised in the South!

YEA BARRY, YA TAKE THOSE GIRLS EVERYTIME YA GET A CHANCE, THEN YOU WILL HAVE A PARTNER FOR LIFE. I CARRIED MY YOUNGEST DAUGHTER FISHING WITH ME WHILE SHE WAS STILL IN DIAPERS, WE DID A LOT OF FISHING TOGETHER. I WILL NEVER FORGET ONE DAY DOWN ON REDWATER LAKE NORTH OF AVON PARK, WE WERE TROLLING FOR SPECKLE PERCH, ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEARD BABY CRY OUT HEP, HEP, HEP, DADDY, I LAID DOWN THE REEL I WAS REELING IN WITH A SPECK ON, REACHED BACK AND WAS ABLE TO CATCH BABY BY HER DIAPER JUST BEFORE SHE WAS GONNA BE PULLED OVERBOARD. SHE WOULD NOT LET GO OF THAT ROD, I PULLED HER BACK IN THE BOAT AND HELD ON TO HER AND SHE REELED IN A 5 POUND BLACK BASS, THE FIRST ONE SHE HAD EVER CAUGHT. ON CLOSER LOOK , SHE HAD HOOKED A NICE SPEC AND THAT BASS HAD INHALED THE SPECK. WE HAVE SPENT MANY DAYS TROLLING FOR SPECKS ON LAKE ARBUCKLE JUST SOUTH OF AVON PARK, WE FISHED , SANG SONGS , AND ON OCCASION TAKE A SWIM TO COOL OFF ON A HOT DAY. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR HUNT WITH THE GIRLS.
