We hit the water around 8:00am. Decided to try the flats and drift. We found fish in 4' of water and the morning bite was pretty good. Landed 10 keeper trout, 3 Spanish Mackerel and 7 sharks. Big trout was 22" and big Spanish was 24". We caught a ton of short trout.
The excitement for the day was hooking up with a fish that made our trout rigs look like childs play. After 1 hour and 30 minutes of fighting the fish we got to see what it was as it crossed over a oyster bar in shallow water. I'm guessing the stingray was a minimum of 40" wide. It wasn't long after that the fish won breaking the line and we packed it in the for the day.
