Headed out this morning, and could see that the Wakulla river was running much clearer, and the prop wash wasn't the color of dark tea.

We started trying to catch some pinfish in the bay, near buoy #9, and while tossing a spoon , I managed to hook a bird, apparently swimming underwater. We motored back to the bird, and with a glove, some pliers, and 2 sets of hands, we managed to get him unhooked, and safely back in the water.

After getting a few pinfish in the livewell, we headed out to St. Marks reef, and when we arrived, we saw quite a bit of activity top water, and quickly put a big spanish in the boat. A few cutoffs later, and with more boats arriving, we decided to head out to Dog Ballard.

However, on the way, we started to see bait pods exploding everywhere, and ended up chasing them for the rest of the afternoon. We put 2 more Spanish in the boat, and a nice big bonita. Quite a fighter. We lost countless jig heads and lures to the fish, but putting on a wire leader ended the bite. We kept a live pin drifting behind the boat almost all day and had no hits at all.

Coming back to the marina, we saw LOTS of trout and redfish being cleaned. The water is clearing up, and the fish are moving back in.
