Just seeing if anybody has any recommendations or non-recommendations for a transmission shop in tally or surrounding area? Just need to get a service done but I'd like to go with people that are good. Thanks in advance.

I have been making recommendations to customers for years. Two shops that I have never gotten a bad report from are Nationwide at 1828 Capital Cir NE, Tallahassee, FL 32308
Phone: (850) 942-1392 and Tallahassee Transmission 3202 W Tennessee St, Tallahassee, FL 32304 Phone: (850) 575-6223
I hope this helps.

My friend owns the AAMCO on W. Tennessee St. He'll take good care of you. My son's truck is there now being worked on.

I’ve had a good experience with AAMCO. Leroy and is staff are pleasant to work with and the prices are fair.

So a couple years back I was having trouble with the tranny in my ‘99 F-150. Took it to a transmission shop off S Monroe which I will not name, but came recommended. Was told it was toast and looking at a complete rebuild. Saw somewhere, can’t remember exactly but somewhere that the transmission expert at Tallahassee Ford (can’t remember his name but he had been there a long time) was a wizard so figured why not have a diagnostic done for $100-$150 or whatever they were going charge.

Told him the symptoms and what the other shop had said and he replied: “wellll maybe not”

Turns out it was a $3 accumulator spring and he got me out the door at around $200 after labor, tax, etc.

This was 4-6 years ago.

I reckon there’s a lesson in there somewhere.
