Steinhatchee 12/20

The day started out slow with a late start and us not launching until 1:00, and I ended up changing my mind in the river and deciding to go south instead of north. The cloud cover made the fishing a little dreary and cool, and it started SLOW. We fished the flats and creek mouths of Porpoise and Pine log creeks with no luck. We didn't get a bite until nearly 3:30pm and had to move around a bit. The water was much clearer from Rocky Creek south and finding the clear water was the ticket, we fished 2.5-4ft the rest of the day. Ended up with a nice 22 incher and a two man limit in 1.5 hours, we probably caught 20 or so shorts. Water temps were 58-59F and all in all an excellent day trip that made a good early Christmas present since I'm home from MO for the rest of the month.

Nice going all around! Way to stick with it, they have to eat sometime. I bet they will stay on the edge of the flats til we get some real bone-chilling weather.

It looked worse outside of the pictures, looked like the Okefenokee Swamp to me, no shocker that chartreuse gulp jerk shads were the ticket.
