Was fishing out of Aucilla one day with three of us on the boat and we already had reds first thing, so we headed out to get some trout. We all took different colors. I caught them on red head, white body/pink tail. My brother picks up a pattern fast and switched. We were catching them 3-1 to my nephew who stuck to his color (new penny like color). My brother broke off and tied on a pink jig head, white body pink tail and started out-catching me. Some days, it really does matter a lot.
One day in Carrabelle, they would hit any color we tossed, as long as it was Nuclear Chicken! My buddy next to us in his boat was doing similar drift and not catching anything. He was pissed. It was hilarious.
We even tossed them a couple bags of what we were using and they still did not catch anything. They wanted to have a fish fry (they were camping up here) and we cleaned all the fish and gave them to them. I told his wife to tell all their family and friends that we provided!
