DIY Helm station upgrade
Last year I made a new windshield, this year I decided to move all the electronics to a new upper console and dashboard (previously all just mounted on top of the console).
Added a cheap galaxy tab A to run Navionics & save the Lowrance screen for downscan / sidescan fishfinder duties.
Here are some fotos
Next project is to build a tackle station under the seat to elevate it enough to see thru the windshield!

Very nice. Looks like a real clean install.
Ducks, turkeys, flats fishing. Who has time for golf?

Thanks, I just finished the tackle station. I'll post fotos in a new thread

Nice and neatly organized. I did something similar when I switched electronics on the Bayshore. Had to track down a piece of teak from Merritt Yachts to fit into the e-pod. Lot of work, but it turned out well and added to the look. Projects like this give a sense of satisfaction when completed.

Looks nice and clean. How well can you see the Galaxy Tab in bright sunlight?
Re: DIY Helm station upgrade
If I keep the brightness turned up I can see it perfectly until I put on my polarized sunglasses. But using it for Navionics gives me more room to view split screen downscan and sidescan on the fishfinder. A lot cheaper than buying a 2nd Elite ti2, so it works for me.

You need one of these to complete the look/practicality.

Looks good! I was testing an iPad for Navionics, but it didn't have cellular service and won't track the location.
Re: DIY Helm station upgrade
The galaxy tab A has good glonass GPS, which works well if you download the navionics charts by wi-fi in advance (it's mounted so I can pop it in & out of the dash easily)
