Re: SEC Championship
Looks like tonight we were calling the shots from the Les Miles Clock Management book. We had a shot at it and couldn't execute. At least the Packers here in Moultrie are still playing

Pinfish Question / Keaton
Went out of Keaton Saturday and caught fish all day. Came back with one of the best limits I have caught in a long time. While fishing gulps under a CT, my buddy snagged a small pinfish which I put under my cork. It lasted about 8 seconds before a 22 in trout ate it. I tried off and on to catch anot...

Ecoffeeina
Went down out of the econfina last saturday and tried everything from 2' to 10'. SLOW SLOW SLOW fishing. Ended up with 6 keepers on the day, so not too bad. The water had a visibility of less than a foot it seemed. It was like I was fishing in a giant cup of black coffee. Anyone have any ideas of ho...

Econfina 9/15 - The trip that wasn't.
Me and a buddy made plans to head down to Econfina after our wives finished running a 5k here in Moultrie this morning. At 9:00, all is going well as the boat is loaded and we are about to leave and I get a call that my buddy has a bad bearing on his trailer. I figure, no big deal, so we buy new fis...

Re: .243 for local deer?
I used to use one. May not make it all the way through on a body shot, but it will do the job to kill the deer. It just may make the blood trail tougher to follow.

Re: St. Marks Cobia
I came face to face with a hoss of a cobia two weeks ago while scalloping around the rock garden. Really wished I had my pole spear at that time.

Now when I'm at Anky I'll have another concern besides some unbridled Taylor county ruffians.....the damn Russians on the flats!
I say let them come on up into these waters. The rocks will get them within an hour!

Re: Going to have to work on my (surf) distance casting
I remember seeing a sailfish in the surf at St. George Island about 20 years ago. I saw its bill first and thought it was a stick and then realized it was a fish. Me and my dad tried to catch it but it was able to swim away. I still have no idea what it was doing that shallow.

Re: Motor RPMs
My buddy took his boat to a mechanic and said that his carbs were clogged and he needed a new fuel pump. He said the quote from the guy was $1100 . Is this a normal price for a carb cleaning? Seems a little steep to me, but I haven't had any work done on my motor by a professional in a long time.

Re: St. Marks/Wakulla River water clarity
Was a bit murky last weekend out in the flats. Vis was about 4 feet so it made scalloping tough, but not impossible. Went up the wakulla above 98 and it was not nearly as clear as it normally is. It was at the end of the day so I dont know if the wakulla clarity is due to debby or all the boat traff...

Re: Motor RPMs
I checked the screen right before the carbs. I'll have to take the fuel line off tomorrow to see if that is the issue.
