Re: TFO Signature - Underline?
Yeah, I've got an 8 wt. TFO's are kind of beefy. A friend of mine that has a Sage tried mine and said it was more comparable to his 9 wt, and so overlining would be the way to go. I've always thrown 8 wt line on mine. Recently I switched to the SA redfish taper, which doesn't necessarily help with d...

Yeah, normally it's best in December and January for the big boys. I hope to get a trip in over the holiday. I'll report if I do.

Re: Orca in the Gulf
Interesting stuff. Does anyone else find this a little disturbing though? Has the fish population in their normal range depleted so much as to drive them thousands of miles away to find food. Not saying it's the case, but it makes you wonder why they would be there.

Re: The Sport of Kayak Fishing
Boca Grips can be worth their weight in gold in a kayak. Of course, they almost cost their weight in gold, so they should be.

Well, somehow I've managed to fish 3 weekends in a row. Didn't post last weekends trip, but the wind was horrible and I caught one red, one sheepshead, and 3 trout, all on a gold spoon. (Sheepshead on a gold spoon - weird, I know). Anyway, went with CED on Friday to test out his new Beavertail BTX (...

Re: Lanark 09.28
Thanks guys. I was wondering if I'd even remember how to fish. I did some practice casting in the park across the street the day before just to make sure. Jumptrout, my boat is the little black speck on the right in the first photo. The little black speck on the left was my fishing partner. I tend t...

Re: Fishing in general
Launch your kayak at the youth camp boat ramp in the state park, and fish the oyster bars all around that area. Good for reds and trout alike, especially around the shoreline of Goose island (the island directly out from the ramp) if it's high tide.

Well, it's been a while since I've been out, but Sunday made the wait worth it. The morning started out with a little breeze and no clouds. After an hour or so, the wind laid down, and it looked like this.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/bgandy/P9280001.jpg This was truly a day made for si...

Re: Wacissa River
The Wilaunnee landing is a few miles up from Goose Pasture and is my favorite place to put in. It's down the last dirt road on the right before you get to Goose Pasture - finding it is a little sketchy though. Theres a couple forks in the road, and I can't tell you from memory how to get there. I wi...

Re: Sportsman's Warehouse - Fly tying supplies
Reels consisted of Ross, Okuma, and Pfleuger that I can recall. There may have been one or two other brands. Rods consisted of TFO and Reddington that I can remember. Seems like I saw something there by G Loomis, but it might have been a spinning rod or something. The place is definitely better than...
