Low tide in the surf. Bulls are crashing bait. Caught two bigguns couple of days ago.

I fish them on a weighted worm hook. Wet the weighted part with saliva and it slips right over.
Re: Econfina
Yes. Fishing is still poor for the forseeable future.redbelly7 wrote:Anyone go out of Econfina this weekend? Is it still like coffee in both directions?

Re: found a few more options for my next boat
A small boat is fine until you get one more person and their tackle and rods and drinks and food and ice and fish and ..... you get the picture. I have a 22 ft Bay Boat and wish it was 24 sometimes.

Re: What's YOUR perfect boat ?
The perfect boat? One that will run in a couple of inches of water and still go off shore. One that will never let you down or get you wet. One with plenty of room for everyone but small enough to creek fish. And one that loves ethanol.

It has been dark now since Hurricane Debby. That is almost four months. Wonder if it will kill the grass flats?

Re: Bay at st George
Bay can get rough in a hurry. Fish off the dock, if you have one, at night. If the jon boat has a motor you can float the 3-4 foot grass flats and fish the green spots. If no motor, I would wade fish. Jon boat is awful noisy.

Anyone know where the rubble went? It could be a hazard or fishing hot spot.

If you can get out in November the fishing can be great. I have been there in the winter for 3 days and never got to fish. Check the tides.

I have several Okuma epixors. Great reel and good bang for the buck. But, they are not Shimano or Diawa.

Re: Rod Repair
Replacing a guide is pretty easy. I learned to do it years ago. I did one yesterday and it took about 20 minutes. Wish I was closer, I would show you how.GoneGator wrote:It is a Abu Garcia rod, I think I paid around $80 for it, nothing special but my son likes it. Hate to discard it just because of a guide.
