Re: How Long Is A Long Cast?

Long cast are relevant. One time a surf caster cast over the old astodome. Surf casters are legendary long casters and have actual competition.
Figue in line size + lure weight + rod length + ability = distance.

I have a merc and a Yammy. The Merc has pulled in its share of "other" brands. Free bump anyway. :D

Re: Apalachicola fishing help

Not much grass flats. Some of the spots to try are behind LSGI and and the grass flats east of the State park entrance. St. Vincent Dry bar and Bird island are two more spots the locals like. That place is the most tide dependent place I have ever fished. Slack tide, you might as well pack up and le...

Re: anybody thinking of selling there CC's

I have a 175 Seachaser made by Carolina skiff. It has a 90 merc, jack plate, vhf, poling platform, and trolling motor. I think it is a 2000 or 2001. Runs like a champ. $7000 obo. I bought a new boat so am letting my fishing buddy go.

Re: Abu Garcia

I use the ct's for surf fishing. I have all the name brands and nothing will touch them for casting 150+ yards and ease of cleaning.
If any of you have some ct's, I might take them off your hands! :D

Re: Optima battery charging problem

Mine charge at about 10 amps. One thing about the optimas: tell them it won't hold a charge and get a brand new one. Warning: Do not try to fast charge those suckers. You can boil it over in a heartbeat.

Re: Sonar/GPS

I have a garmin 178 c gps/sonar that sometimes you can find on closeout and a 276csx handheld (garmin). Love both. Be warned. Sometimes the added maps etc. can cost more than the unit. If I had it to do again, I would look into the Garmin 478c that comes with bluechart installed. I know one thing. L...
