You should not be so disrespectful of our elected officials. Yes - the Democrats are liars, cheats and theives. Yes - the Rupublicans are snakes, burglers and predators. Yes - the Independants are greedy, obnoxious and corrupt to the bone. But that's just the ones that are alive. Just the ones that ...

First trip answers

OK - so I took that first trip. Tied the new yak on the old car and drove 3 hours to the Aucilla. The parking lot was full and the ramp was idle. I was relieved .. I knew that I would make 50 mistakes before I got underway and wanted no witnesses. Someone like Dave Berry or Lewis Grizzard could writ...

first trip questions

Of the three, where would you recommend for a first yak trip? 1) Aucilla .. I've been there once and know it a tiny bit 2) Econina .. Been there once also 3) Hickory Mound .. never been there but it sure looks tempting looking mostly for reds and trout .. but I catch way more trash fish than anything

Border Security

I am beginning to get real concerned about all of these "Spanish" that people keep talking about in our (US OF A) Gulf waters. Seems like every post talks about not only an enormous population increase among these (seemingly) undocumented visitors, but also the havoc they are beginning to ...

For what it's worth, we launched at Keaton on Monday (2nd), and had decent luck a few hundred yards off the channel (last and second last markers) just to the north in patchy grass heading out toward that first 'bird rack". We boated one Spanish, one Blue and about a few small trout. We then we...

Is it Spring Break at FWCC ?

I have been trying for over a week to but my Saltwater Rec license on-line. Server cannot be found. I have also tried their toll frre line to ask if the server is down .. fast busy signal each time (I'm dialing 888 404 FWCC).

Are there no fish left? Is that why they all walked off the job?

[quote="reel therapy"] I don't remember seeing anything about the hotel in Perry That was a small sidebar on the bit about polar ice caps melting. It said "the water will be so high that 104 year old cigar-chomping Soccerdad will need to take his last casts from the second floor.....&...

According to Time Magazine...

I read a couple of blips in the Time Magazine that came out with the mirror on the cover. By the way - congratulations to YOU on being named Person Of The Year. I knew it was YOU all along. Anyway - according to the guys who study this kind of stuff, we have 50 years of fish left. That's it. I'll be...

I'm a bit distressed by the lack of cretive thinking here ladies and gents .. while it is certainly true that carrying a firearm in a Wildlife Refuge could land one in some deep dookey with our buddies in uniform ... we do all carry Flare Guns .. no?

So, PJ, you must have been holding your mouth just right. How were you holding your mouth?? We were part of the flotilla in the river and could only manage teeny bopper trout. Got a couple of flounders by bumping a gulp shrimp on the bottom .. but only small trout. I was wondering if our leaders wer...
