15' Gheenoe Lowsider Rebuild
My dad and I rebuilt a 13' Highsider a few years ago and really enjoyed the process. A link to that build thread can be found here: http://www.bigbendfishing.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=31280&hilit=gheenoe+casey Fast forward a few years and an old school Lowsider was posted on CL for chea...

WTB - used 11 or 12 wt fly reel for tarpon
I've come down with the tarpon bug and want to start slinging feathers at them in the near future. Does anyone have a used reel laying around the house that they want to sell? I'd also be interested in a 12 wt rod or combo if the price is right. Send me a PM if you have something that you're interes...

Re: 2015 NFGFC schedule
The schedule looks good - you may want to call now and reserve a room block for SJB, Keaton, and Steinhatchee. You may want to include a makeup date in August or September in case one of the early tournaments gets cancelled. Also might get more participation if you do away with the slot tournaments....

Mr. April
Mr. April Baseball great Reggie Jackson was given the name Mr. October for his clutch hitting performances during the A's and Yankees playoff runs in the late 70s and early 80s. If you fish tournaments in this area chances are you've heard of Ashley Mock and chances are he's won some of your money....

Re: NFGFC March 16, 2103 Tournament – Roll Call
Showboat: In your post it says that safe light is 6:37. I see on the tide / current predictor that sunrise isn't until 7:43 that day. Is 6:37 correct or does it need to be bumped back to 7:13? Not sure if I'll be able to make the tournament, but thought that would be an important detail. If it does ...

Re: nfgfc 2013 schedule
Aman-in an effort to make things as simple as possible, we're trying to consolidate weigh in locations. Other than the St Joe and Carrabelle tournaments, Econfina will be within the parameters of eligible launch sites. Casey-The Club remains committed to conservation, and as a result the desire is ...

Re: Another 13' Gheenoe Rebuild
Casey, I added a reinforcement under the front deck to mount a pedestal seat, only to be used when stopped. My intention is to put a grab bar from the ice chest, and to also use the ice chest for the passenger to sit on while underway. I did foam the front, above the trolling battery hatch. I have ...

Re: Another 13' Gheenoe Rebuild
Lizbeth - the boat looks great! I'm sure you've learned a lot, just like I did when redoing mine. A couple questions / observations: 1) Where is the person going to sit in the front if two people go? You planning on adding a seat? On mine, I've been using the casting platform. This is good and bad. ...

Re: 13' Gheenoe Rebuild
The Gheenoe is just about finished. Lots has been done in the last month. Stainless drain installed in the false floor behind the front deck. http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w14/tcaseycook/2012-10-16_18-00-30_722.jpg Front view http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w14/tcaseycook/2012-10-16_17-53-13...

Gotcha, thanks for replying Dubble.Dubble Trubble wrote:Guys, to clear up the length. The distance between the red dotted lines is what is posted. The distance from the winch head to rear of bunk is 9 feet. A little short, but easily extended with a piece of square galvanized tubing.
