In additon to the anchor rope idea, a useful and very affordable anchor can be found at any department store in the exercise section. The foam covered hand weights make excellent anchors for yaks and are easy on your boat surface when retrieving or stowing.

This man was a neighbor of mine. From what I can tell the article above is accurate. Obviously, details are still a bit sketchy, but it is my understanding that they were in a tandem (I'm guessing it was a sit-in without skirts), and approximately 100-150 yards offshore. Obviously the waters were ro...

Fishing Kayak For Sale

My son is selling his 10 foot sit-in Emotion kayak. It is yellow, has two rod hoders, a seat, and adjustable foot support brackets. He is looking to move to something he can get in and out of while on the water (i.e. a snorkeling and diving platform). He paid $500 three years ago and will take $300....

St Marks 3/24

I put in at Shields around 8:00 to try out my "new" buckshot aluminum that I pickeed up from Ron W. My thinking was that the Fort would be stacked up five deep. I was wrong, oh well I needed "supplies" anyway. Headed out to east of the light house and my son immediately picked up...

Another kayaking tip: When your about a mile offshore and trying to paddle in to beat a thunderstorm, it helps to have your fishing poles tethered in the rod holders. A power stroke can easily konck your favorite rod and reel into 6 feet of water. :smt010

I "snagged" a couple on the flats by the lighthouse last weekend as they were nibbling on the tails of my gulps. :smt012

Yes, that's what it was called the Dupont Bridge - you jarred my memory. It is still there, but I guess it is not safe enough to allow people to fish from it any longer.

The primo spot was where the first span connects with the second span, there was something special about hearing the drag scream in the dark of night.

Long ago and not so far away...

Years ago, (in the mid eighties) I was stationed at Tyndall AFB, in PC. My buddies and I would fish an outgoing tide at night from an old closed bridge so that our bait (3-4 in live blue crabs) would float toward the new bridge. The strong tidal current would suspend or bait near the top of the wate...

Lizbeth, for a couple of thousand more, the same boat is for sale in JAX. It looks to be in great condition.

WTB - Used 65-75 HP Outboard

I need a used outboard for my project boat (a 1975 16 ft Glastron). Obviously, I am looking for that good running motor that doesn't have a boat. If I can't find a reasonably priced motor soon, I will be looking to sell the boat and its 4 year old galvenized trailer.
