Re: What size boat?

If its too rough to go offshore in a 20-22 “capable” boat….. then it wont be comfortable in a bigger capable boat…..

Re: Carrabelle Offshore Fishing and the Catch Cam 2000

Love the pics….
We dive alot so the pics seem familiar!
However, not past 75ft…..
Good haul for you.

Seems like there are a few really big RS around, but not many in medium range

Re: Late November Fishing for Red Snapper, Red Grouper, and Hogfish

The pattern over the last few
Years , at
Least in the fall, is to have isolated sow snapper in shallower. The small
Ones in the 100 ft plus…. Dont know if this it their
Range or not.
When we dive 55-75….
Neve more than 2 RS on a spot, usually one… but they aee big like yours.
Video stills
Are great….

Gag season summary

Too short obviously…..
Strong AM NE winds for the whole 2 weeks…. Afternoons were better
Great gags from 15ft to 60.
We dove and fished….
Pretty good fishing considering all the bait.
Average size was super , 28-30”
Lots of smaller red grouper still….

One observation, maybe due to clear water ...

Re: Successful Day of Fishing for Red Snapper and Red Grouper on July 19, 2025

Seems the RS pushed out deep… we’ve seen a few solos diving in 65, but not many….
The gags must be happy about them leaving as they are everywhere.

Re: Preliminary scallop reports post helene

St marks is decent for scallops.
Not as far east as usual. Even heard people were getting some off shell point.
Water is super clear right now. Scallops on the small side but in a month or so will be nice…
If you work at it you can get a nice dinner!

Preliminary scallop reports post helene

Heard a third hand report someone was seeing scallops from the boat when the water was clear of St Marks…
Wouldn’t that be nice after all the storms.
Any other sightings?

Re: NOAA gag surveyors clearly haven’t looked in our area

I’m sure some old timers would disagree, but gags are better here by far than they were 15 years ago….
I grew up going in the 80s out of Crystal river and Suwannee….. and if you take out the small grouper everyone kept them (that would be under size now) the fishery now could be better now than ...

NOAA gag surveyors clearly haven’t looked in our area

Diving in 60ft in k tower area today…
4 spots all covered with big gags…. And small ones..
Most I’ve ever seen in that area…
It’s ridiculous….

Gags are everywhere, and fat…… oh but my eyes must be playing tricks on me…. Those gags are supposed to be endangered….
Maybe DOGE will send fisheries management back to the states?????
