Great pics….
We are divers so especially appreciate them.
Nice Jewfish in on of that latter pics.
Guessing the shark was a lemon based on head shape….
RS seem to have moved north with Helene…

Re: Everything is Endangered……. Not really of course
Or maybe just give us the “normal” gag season that THEY told us was the right regulation to rebuild the stock. They were actually correct, it worked.
Most folks were happy with the 6 or 7 months…
Ridiculous

Everything is Endangered……. Not really of course
One dive trip during gag and one after……
Gag trip was quick …. 40 ft of DI… big gags everywhere, stuffed with small herring… we stopped at 7 for the 5 of us… barely could shut cooler… more than enough fish for us. Great to see all the healthy gags…. Plenty from every age class. But don’t try to tell ...

Love the pics though …. Very representative… Gaga and RG hugging bottom, mango and RS buzzing around.
Very unusual to see that many gags on a RG/RS hard bottom spot….
Keep that one a

We grew up diving the murk at Crystal River where 6 ft vis was good…. So we got used to silhouettes….
The RG are taller and shorter…. Behave differently….
Gags usually need Xanax….. always on edge.
RG all are way chill.

Slight clarification….. in the 4th pic down from the top, those are big gags, the one that are endangered.
3rd pic down has a nice RG in the front to the left, others are gags.
Gags are like that everywhere

If you bleed bonito well… cut gills and troll them in the water, they are as good fresh as any local YF from the market….
Only raw or sear…. If you like tuna that way , you’ll love them.
We target them now between dive spots

That’s what we see back east some. There will be one or two sows on a spot…. We are divers so don’t fish them too much. With all that bait I can see why they wouldn’t bite. Where you see the numerous smaller RS, you probably won’t find big ones there.
You are correct that the sows dominate the reef ...

Still believe aggregate system/limit is best…. Longer fishing season, way lower bycatch loss
