What does rain do for scalloping??
Hey anybody know how all the rain recently will affect those tasty mollusks I plan on hunting all day Monday??? I heard they are fairly sensitive to salinity changes, will this rain keep them off the flats longer or in deeper water?? I'm probably heading out Monday no matter what, but I'd sure appre...

Yeah I definitely got lucky. I don't fish there alot cause I don't have a boat ( I got a canoe so more in the winter). That's the first time I've ever been there and found fish at the first spot. I was about to pull up and move and.... wham they moved in on me. There's certainly no lack of good spot...

Aucilla flats
Had to take a break and tell you all about my weekend. I had a buddy's boat for Sat and Sun. Sat headed down to Alligator harbor in hopes of finding some trout over the grass. I had no problem netting some nice size pins and one Mullet at about two pounds. Feeling good cause at least I got a mullet....

Hey, both replies are good. The article Tom mentioned is a great start, but there are a couple of places it misses, if I remember correctly. One, Bald point on Ocklocknee bay. the oyster bar here is massive, you can almost wade the whole way across the bay. Lost of reds if you can succesfully freeli...

Wade fished the oyster bars off of bald point yesterday. I got there just before high tide and fished the slack to outgoing untill about 7:30. Live shrimp under a cajun thunder were gettig me lots of ladyfish. Yeah they're fun to catch, but not worth cleaning, so I switched to the ever trusty Crocad...

yeah you should. Make sure you get out between the islands though. You'll spend less time sorting through the small ones. Also I just talked to the guy who sent us there in the first place. He told me we didn't go out far enough for the spanish. there is a marker way out (about another 1-2 miles pas...

Hey, I had a slow, but encouraging day over at alligator harbor. I got there about 11:30, and started at the dirt boat ramp. the water had to be above 70. I would say 75, but I didn't have a thermometer. I can say I was only in a t-shirt and shorts in waist deep all day and never got chilled. the ti...

I would plan on getting in and out of the boat ramps on the island at high tide. Was there 3 weeks ago, with a small john boat and still had to get out and walk it about 300 to 400' after getting 50' away from the ramp itself. A wild life officer out there at the time said both sides were the same. ...
