Re: Lighthouse ramp
Looks like Cedar Key at low tide! The curb at the end of the ramp is almost out of the water.

Re: St Marks 12/31
The worst thing to me in those conditions is that the mist keeps my glasses fogged up to where it is a pain in the ass and I’m nearly blind without them. I guess just a part of paying your dues! That was happening to me last Saturday with my sunglasses. If I pulled them further down away from my ey...

Re: St Marks 10/23
Yesterday the water was 69.5 degrees and I'm sure you had issues with the wind in a kayak! We only caught one catfish.

Re: Lighthouse ramp
That sounds like Newport Bridge! If you get off the end of the ramp you aren't getting back up!Leoparddog wrote: ↑December 21st, 2021, 2:10 pmI've seen some ramps without curbs develop mud holes where the concrete ends that can be deep enough to swallow half of your wheel and then you ain't getting back out with your boat on the trailer.

Re: Lighthouse ramp
Might have to push the boat off the trailer with that low tide. If the wind if from the southeast it shouldn't be super low.

Nice report! I think the water temp around there 2 weeks ago was 64. Must be cooling off more on the flats.

Re: What was I doing wrong on Sunday?
I will say that overall the number of folks fishing St. Marks these days is ridiculous. (and sad to an old-timer like me) That's why I was shocked at the lack of boat trailers at the lighthouse ramp. Maybe the tide was too low for anyone that knows the conditions. It was just high enough for my boa...

Re: What was I doing wrong on Sunday?
I had the same problem on Saturday. We fished around the mouth of the St Marks with shrimp, artificial, and a gold spoon. Nothing biting except a half size trout. I think we got there too late because the forecast I use said the best time was about an hour before high tide. I saw several boats, but ...
