Juan wrote: September 13th, 2021, 5:35 pm I'd hit the oyster bar in East Bay about 1/4 mile due west of the lodge for trout and black drum, then there's another on the other side of the bridge for sand trout.
I'll have to look around for that because it's not on the Navionics chart and can't see it on google maps.

Re: East Point fishing

. . . launch at the county ramp just west of Apalachicola (by the airport), . . . I will be staying at the Sportsman's Lodge and launching from their dock each day. It doesn't seem like a very long ride to any of the spots you mentioned. That was the plan I had started in my head, day 1 St Vincent,...

Re: Huge Disappointment

Sounds like a great fight! Too bad you couldn't get it in the boat. I was out there looking for fish yesterday. Saw some hitting the top of the water, but couldn't get any on the hook.

Went out Friday afternoon and caught a flounder, red and black drum. Saturday and Monday only got one Spanish and 5 crabs. Water is still pretty warm around the lighthouse.

Re: Almost Fall Y’all!

Waiting on my 4 days weekend in East Point later this month! Think I'll take the crab traps and see what we can catch.

Thanks for the pics!

Re: Missing boater at lighthouse

I pushed my boat in more shallow water than I ever have today. Found the spot called Cow Creek rock pile. Idled around Cabell point and over to Gamble point. All I found was 4 rocks! So glad to have the Porter rock guard. WCTV, TPD, Wakulla sherif and FWC were at the lighthouse when I came in around...

I did a few searches before posting and saw your posts from last year. I'll have to look around the back side of SGI for sure!

East Point fishing

I have never fished around the East Point area, but I have a weekend scheduled for the end of September. Hopefully the water temps will be a little lower by then because I don't want to go very far offshore. Are there any good spots to catch some inshore fish or close spots to catch some other speci...

There is another rocky spot before you get to the houses. On a high tide it's not a problem, but low tide you will bump some rocks.

Re: Navionics Advice

Thank you ropeman. I may post after the summer storms and see if someone will let tail them out there. Nice idea. A friend of mine told me that it was a short run from the Rock Landing boat ramp so I tried it on my old boat (17' Bass Tracker style). It's still 8 miles from the Rock Landing and the ...

Re: St. Marks River at Newport

The ramp does have a big washout at low tide so don't fall off the edge. If the dock is 1-2' above the water you have plenty of water to launch. Also when the water is low the ramp is very slick so hold onto something! You can run all the up to the rocky area, but watch out for logs near the bank. T...
