SGI weekend

It was my wife's birthday weekend, so we invited a bunch of drunks to hang out with us on St. George. :D Luckily, I had a chance to fish 3 days in a row. I fished the state park late afternoon Friday and got a lot of red action on topwater. http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg40/walterwidener/IMG_3...

Re: Yak Rentals

Wilderness Way on Crawfordville Hwy in Tallahassee. I actually bought my kayak there. They have a big assortment and good prices. I think you can rent one for the weekend for $50 or so.

32 inch red in the kayak

Put in at Bottoms Rd. hoping to beat the bad weather. The wind was blowing a steady 20 knots, but it pushed us up into a nice tidal area near Piney Island. The only action I got was on topwater, but this guy laid into a Papa Dog in about 3 feet of water near one of the sheltered coves. It took me ab...

Fishing SGI 3/29/08

Fished the FCKA tournament Saturday with a few yakers over on St. George Island. I caught a keeper flounder, a 20+ trout and a few reds on Friday, but was limited to reds on tourney day. I saw a huge bullshark while I was trying to land one of my reds, sorry I didn't get a picture of the guy. (Anybo...

Re: Hickory Mounds

I got the pee bit out of me last weekend, larger reds have some powerful chompers. I'm suprised it took 11 replies for someone to make fun of it. :P

Hickory Mounds

Spent all day at HM hoping for redfish. I got into 'em pretty good with the incoming tide. High slack slowed them down but the trout started biting like crazy. I think they knew they had to go back. Ended up with 15 reds and 10 keeper trout, some over 20 inches, damn shame. Captain Mike is the man. ...

Econfina 1/6/08

Got a late start, but was on the water about 11:00. Caught a barely slot red on my fifth cast with a chartreuse swimming mullet. Fished a few spots and saw alot of fish. Unfortunately they didn't like what I was throwing. I got one big red on the last gold spoon in my tackle box and lost him due to ...
