Re: Bass Pro Gift Card
I'll give you $80 for it and pick it up Saturday or Sunday. I need some new boat seats for the Gheenoe so I can take Dad fishing.

Re: Whats your desired action in a rod?
Look at the lures tossed by most of us. Go back and pull up the favorite lure thread. Most folks are throwing things 1/4 ounce or less down to weightless flukes on a 5/0 hook. On the flats heavier lure just get tangled up in the grass on the bottom.

Re: Trout Question
I kind of hate to even suggest it but I do have to wonder with oyster fishing in such bad shape that we might not have illegal netting of trout going on again. I remember when it was legal they'd wipe out an area overnight.

Re: FAVORITE LURE
For trout, etc., I usually start out with rods rigged with the Mirrodine, a weightless Fluke (usually Zoom), 1/8 or 1/4 jig head depending on the depth and one will have a Gulp shrimp, the other a ZMan Paddlerz.

Re: Congressional Red Snapper Bill
If it ever happens, we can see how the states alone manage snapper. My prediction is a difficult day will come when citizens will have to come to grips with whether they want to have ARS available on the plate in a restaurant or for individuals to catch for themselves. There is no "magic"...

You can get those R2D2 smokers for under $50 I think. Pretty hard to mess up with them.

I agree on the short leader. I've never had the line above the leader cut or broken by a king using a 8" wire leader.

Re: Catching crawdads
The best way I know is to go to those ditches and drag the bottom with a long handled bait net. Dump the leaves and crawdads in the grass and grab them and put them in a bucket. I tried one of those Gee's Minnow traps in my pond and did well with it until a gator found it and tried to eat it. Flatte...

Re: Don't throw back those yellowtail jacks!
I'll try any fish once or twice. I can say that spade fish and lesser amberjack will never make the boat ride to the ramp with me again. I love fishy tasting fish but those two were rank. Grunts, Spanish, Amberjack, Kings, all get to participate in the GA relocation program.
