Re: SAINT GEORGE STATE PARK
The east end road is still closed. i was there last week renewing my annual pass and the ranger said he hasn't been told if, or when, it will reopen.

All the options previously mentioned + check out Eastpoint Beer Company. Solid beers on tap and they have a pizza joint next door. You won't be disappointed. Their sours are good.

Fisherman's Choice in Eastpoint has them if you're going that way.

Re: Spanish - Dog Island Reef
I normally use a christmas tree rig with a spoon clipped on the end. Seems to work well for trolling.

Plan is to troll. Is there something you need to look for if casting? Birds etc?

Spanish - Dog Island Reef
Has anyone heard if the Spanish have shown up on Dog Island Reef yet? Heading down next week with the family for spring break and want to give it a try with the kids.
Any help is appreciated.

Fished out of the state park on Thursday and Friday. Planned to stay in the kayaks and fish Saturday but the north wind was brutal. Ended up surf fishing and caught a pile of whiting, some early Pompano and a nice flounder off the beach.

Re: Offshore: What am I doing wrong?
We were in 30' off Dog Island on Sunday fighting the fog and found them on hard bottom. Only caught shorts until the bite turned on shortly before slack tide.
Put 5 keepers in the boat in 45 minutes and then the bite was off. Sorry, don't know how to post pics.

Silverking - If you don't mind me asking...how far up the Carrabelle river do you need to go at this time of the year? I'm coming down between Christmas and New Years and would like to fish some out of my kayak.

SGI - State Park - 4-2-2018
Put in with kayaks at the Boy Scout camp and fished the falling tide. Voodoo shrimp were the ticket for reds.
picked up 3 and a couple of keeper trout during a 3 hour paddle. The mullet were stacked up inside the bars.

Re: Anyone Own At Carrabelle Boat Club ?
We have been renting there for years. People and facilities are great. Only complaint I have is they aren't competitive on fuel and bait.
Most folks get there fuel/bait on their way in or out. Small inconvenience for the helpful folks and overall nice facility.

Re: Looking for advice on boat storage in Carrabelle
There is a small place just west of the Boat Club. The guy who owns it is Lee, he has been a great mechanic and resource over the years.
We have used him to work on our boat for a few years and have always been happy with his work. He bought the property a year or so ago and opened a small store ...

The trip was great. I would definitely recommend it to everyone that likes to fish for reds and trout. Not sure how to post pics so the descriptions will have to do.
